HC Harris Cleaning – Terms & Conditions
1. General
By arranging a booking with HC Harris Cleaning or accepting our cleaning services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. We recommend that customers read them before using our services.
2. Services We Offer
HC Harris Cleaning provides professional window cleaning on regular 4-weekly and 8-weekly cleaning cycles, as well as one-off window cleaning services.
Additional services may include gutter clearance, UPVC cleaning, pressure washing, conservatory cleaning and solar panel cleaning.
3. Minimum Visit Charge
A minimum charge of £18 per visit applies to all cleaning services, irrespective of the size of the property or the number of windows requiring cleaning.
4. 24-Hour Satisfaction Guarantee
If you believe the standard of the cleaning is not satisfactory, you must contact HC Harris Cleaning within 24 hours of the service.
Where appropriate, we will return and re-clean the affected area at no additional cost.
Complaints or requests for re-cleaning received after this 24-hour period may not be eligible for a complimentary return visit.
5. Cleaning Schedules and Delays
We endeavour to keep customers on their agreed 4-weekly or 8-weekly cleaning cycle.
Occasionally, circumstances such as adverse weather, staff availability, larger or more time-consuming jobs, access difficulties or other matters beyond our control may cause delays. Where a delay occurs, we may rearrange the clean, normally by no more than one week where reasonably possible.
6. Access Requirements
Customers must make sure that reasonable, safe and unobstructed access to the property is available on the agreed cleaning date.
If our team is unable to access the property because no access has been provided and we have not been notified in advance, the scheduled service may still be charged in full.
7. Initial Customer Commitment
Customers joining our regular window cleaning schedule agree to receive a minimum of three cleans.
If a new regular customer cancels their service before the first three cleans have been completed, the remaining committed cleans may be charged at their normal full service price.
8. Cancellations and Missed Visits
At least 24 hours’ notice is required if you need to cancel or rearrange a scheduled clean.
Where a service is cancelled on the day of the appointment, or our team cannot gain access without having received prior notice, the full scheduled charge may apply.
Repeated cancellations or regularly missed visits may result in the customer being removed from our regular cleaning schedule.
9. Payment Terms
Payment must be made within 7 days of the cleaning date, unless another arrangement has been agreed in advance.
Our preferred payment method is Stripe. Bank transfer and card payments may also be accepted where available or agreed.
Outstanding payments may result in the suspension of services, removal from the cleaning schedule and/or applicable late payment charges.
10. Wooden Window Frames and Painted Surfaces.
HC Harris Cleaning cannot accept responsibility for peeling, flaking or damaged paintwork, weakened coatings, deterioration or other existing issues affecting painted or poorly maintained surfaces.
11. Water Penetration and Defective Windows
HC Harris Cleaning will not be responsible for water entering a property through windows, doors, vents, seals or other areas that are not properly watertight.
This may include failed or blown sealed units, defective seals, open windows, damaged frames, incorrectly installed windows or other faults that existed before our arrival.
12. Weep Holes, Window Bars and Loose Components
We cannot be held responsible for damage to components that are loose, fragile, unsecured, deteriorated or inadequately maintained.
This includes weep holes/vents, trims, clips, decorative fittings and window bars.
Adhesive or stick-on decorative bars may become detached during normal cleaning where the adhesive has deteriorated or weakened with age. Any repair or replacement of such items will remain the responsibility of the customer.
13. Customer Preparation
Before our team begins work, customers must ensure that all windows and doors are properly closed.
Any fragile possessions, ornaments, plant pots, garden furniture or other objects that could obstruct access should be moved beforehand.
Customers should also ensure that pets are safely secured whenever necessary to allow our team to work safely.
14. Customer Referral Reward
Customers can receive £20 account credit for referring a friend to HC Harris Cleaning.
The credit will be applied once the referred customer has completed their first clean.
There is no maximum number of successful referrals a customer can make.
15. Responsibility and Liability
We take reasonable care while carrying out our work. However, HC Harris Cleaning cannot accept responsibility for damage or problems arising from existing defects, poor maintenance, fragile or defective fittings, loose objects, deteriorated materials or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Any suspected accidental damage or service-related issue must be brought to our attention within 24 hours of the clean.
16. Amendments to These Terms
HC Harris Cleaning may revise, update or amend these Terms & Conditions when necessary.
Any revised terms will be made available through our website and will apply from the time they are published.
17. Dog Waste and Unsafe Access
Customers must ensure that gardens, paths and other areas required for access are reasonably clean, safe and suitable for our team to work in.
Where dog waste or other unhygienic material is present in areas we need to access, our team may be unable to safely complete the scheduled service.
If dog waste prevents safe access, HC Harris Cleaning may charge the full scheduled service price while only cleaning the areas that can be reached safely.
Where conditions are considered unsuitable or unsafe, we may decide not to carry out the clean. The scheduled charge may still apply.
This requirement exists to maintain safe and hygienic working conditions for our staff.
18. UPVC Surfaces and Leaded Glass
Although we take care when cleaning, we cannot be responsible for existing marks, staining, oxidation, age-related wear, deterioration or defects affecting UPVC frames, sills, doors, trims or similar surfaces.
We also cannot accept responsibility for damage to leaded or lead-lined windows where the leadwork has become old, brittle, loose, weakened or poorly maintained.
Decorative leadwork can become increasingly fragile over time and may loosen during ordinary cleaning due to its existing condition.
19. Personal and Garden Items
Customers must remove or relocate garden furniture, plant pots, ornaments, children’s toys, tools, doormats and other items that are positioned around windows, doors or access routes before our team arrives.
HC Harris Cleaning cannot be held responsible for outdoor items becoming wet during the cleaning process.
We are also not responsible for damage to items that have been left in areas where they need to be moved to allow access.
If an item is preventing safe access to a window or another part of the property, we may leave that area uncleaned while the full scheduled service charge may still apply.
